France has been blocking discussions on Comoros Union issues in all international organizations since 1995, Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), told journalists, APA reports.

He noted that the group he leads will support solving problems arising in various fields in the region: "Since 1995, the French government has blocked discussions on both the occupation of Mayotte and issues related to the Comoros Union in all international organizations. The Baku Initiative Group raised this issue after 26 years and brought resolutions to the attention of international organizations. The Baku Initiative Group is actively working towards the implementation of UN and other international resolutions. We believe that both Mayotte and other islands are an integral part of the Comoros Union. I would like to note that a memorandum will be signed between the Baku Initiative Group and the Maore Committee regarding the outcomes of this conference. Under this document, the Baku Initiative Group will support the resolution of political, economic, healthcare, education, and other issues faced by the Comoros Union."
