Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Greek counterpart George Gerapetritis in the margins of the Eastern Partnership Ministerial Meeting, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current cooperation between Azerbaijan and Greece on bilateral and multilateral platforms, including prospects, and the latest events in the region.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the Greek Minister on his appointment.
It was noted with satisfaction that the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Greece was marked last year. It was noted that the ministers attach importance to the further development of bilateral relations, and the significance of developing relations in all directions, including political, economic, trade, energy, agriculture, tourism, humanitarian, and other fields, and expanding cooperation in accordance with the interests of the peoples.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart in detail about the new realities that arose in the region during the post-conflict period, the factors determining anti-terrorist measures, the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the agenda of the peace treaty, the steps taken in the direction of the restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated territories.
They also discussed other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
