"Over the recent years, contacts between the two countries have significantly intensified," Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov said during a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia Ahmed Moallim Fiqi held in Baku, APA reports.
"We are utilizing opportunities within the framework of international organization. I have held multiple meetings with my Somali counterparts, and in July 2023, we signed an agreement on holding political consultations between the two countries," the Minister added.
Jeyhun Bayramov stated that discussions are ongoing regarding cooperation opportunities and their expansion across various fields between the two countries.
"We particularly value cooperation with Somalia on international platforms. In this regard, I would like to highlight our collaborations within the UN, various UN agencies, the OIC, and during Azerbaijan's four-year chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement."
