As part of his working visit to Türkiye, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov attended and addressed the 51st session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul, APA reports.

In his remarks, Minister Bayramov elaborated on regional reconstruction, development, and peace efforts in the post-conflict period, as well as on challenges threatening the normalization process.

He noted that territorial claims against Azerbaijan enshrined in Armenia’s constitution and the continued existence of bodies such as the OSCE Minsk Group—relics of the former conflict—obstruct the signing of a peace treaty.

He also pointed out Armenia’s failure to fulfill its obligation to ensure unhindered connectivity between Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Additionally, he emphasized the violation of the rights of Azerbaijanis expelled from present-day Armenian territory, specifically members of the Western Azerbaijan Community, and noted that Armenia’s refusal to recognize their rights remains an obstacle to building lasting peace and trust.
