On June 20, 2025, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a phone conversation with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
The call focused on the current security situation arising from the Israel-Iran confrontation.
Both sides expressed serious concern over the regional security risks stemming from the conflict and emphasized the importance of resolving the issue through diplomatic means.
Kaja Kallas appreciated Azerbaijan’s significant role in facilitating the evacuation of foreign nationals, including citizens of EU member states, from Iran.
The officials also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
