We suggest that the headquarters of the Global South NGO Platform shall be established in Baku, under the National NGO Forum, said Ramil Iskenderli, the head of the National NGO Forum of Azerbaijan, during his closing speech at the founding forum of the Global South NGO Platform, APA reports.
"We take responsibility for organizing all documents until the Global South NGO Platform’s General Assembly to be convened in 2026. These documents, adopted within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement, need to be reviewed before the convening of the General Assembly. As mentioned in previous meetings, today’s discussions aim to strengthen dialogue and reach a consensus. Our representation has been divided for geographical regions. Until the first official General Assembly, we propose that a real, operational headquarters shall be established in Baku under the National NGO Forum. The head of the National NGO Forum shall temporarily lead the Platform until the first convening of the General Assembly," he noted.
