The Lachin airport will elevate the region’s transportation infrastructure to a new level and connect the region with the world, President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told journalists while returning from Azerbaijan, APA’s Istanbul correspondent reports.
He noted that the Lachin airport will be of great importance not only for the region where it is located but also for all of Azerbaijan.
“These infrastructure investments will also pave the way for peace. We are developing cooperation in many areas with Azerbaijan, especially in sectors we consider strategic such as defense, energy, agriculture, and livestock.”
Erdoğan also added that Türkiye wants to cooperate more closely with Azerbaijan in food supply: “I believe this cooperation will also serve as a signal to our other brotherly countries that are members of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). From now on, we will prioritize our brotherly countries in products where we have a surplus. We will produce more together, share more, and step into the future more strongly.”
