On May 6, 2025, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev met with Saeed Khatibzadeh, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran and Head of the Center for Political and International Studies at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The meeting focused on key issues arising from the bilateral cooperation agenda following Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to Azerbaijan on April 28, 2025. The sides also exchanged views on mutual cooperation within regional and international organizations.
The officials emphasized that establishing and strengthening contacts between the research and think tanks of Iran and Azerbaijan would give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation and contribute to raising awareness on various topics among the peoples of both countries.
The two deputy ministers also discussed other regional and global matters of mutual interest.
