"Just as Azerbaijan was determined and succeeded in restoring its territorial integrity, similarly we are fighting for workers' rights," Carlos Fuller, Permanent Representative of Belize to the United Nations told journalists, APA reports.

"Our primary goal has always been consisted of the recognition of the right of people to self-determination and the restoration of territorial integrity. To achieve this, everyone, so to speak, should force people to actively fight, to take measures to reach their goals."

According to the diplomat, the state he represents waited until 1981 to achieve independence:

"We started the process to persuade the countries located in the north and tried to communicate what we wanted to a broader audience. Later, states from Europe, Africa, and other continents also began to join us. This factor created certain conditions for us to take steps toward UN membership. I believe that every state under colonial rule should strive for independence."
