The adoption of resolutions that distort historical and current facts by the Dutch Parliament is not surprising to the Baku Initiative Group, which has long been exposing the Netherlands’ colonial policies filled with crimes.
The Netherlands continues its colonial practices in Bonaire, Saint Maarten, Aruba, Curacao, Saint Eustatius, and Saba, pursuing a deliberate policy of assimilation. Considering the above, the Baku Initiative Group invites the Dutch Parliament to call the Government of the Netherlands to put an end to the crimes committed on the islands of Bonaire, Saint Maarten, Aruba, Curacao, Saint Eustatius, and Saba.
In this regard, we call on for the establishment of a relevant Investigation Commission to hold the perpetrators of these past and ongoing crimes accountable.
Additionally, we call on the European Union countries to support the creation of an appropriate body under the United Nations Human Rights Council to monitor crimes committed on the mentioned islands and ensure that documented cases are submitted to other UN bodies.
We also invite the international community to support initiatives against colonial crimes, particularly the activities of the Baku Initiative Group.
