Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Turkmenistan Gismat Gozalov visited Turkmenistan’s Balkan province on May 13-14, 2024, APA reports citing the Embassy.
During the visit, Mr Gozalov met the ruler of the Balkan province, the ruler of Turkmenbashi city, the chairman of the Turkmen Maritime Agency, the head of Turkmenbashi International Seaport, and the director of "Balkan" shipyard and visited the port and shipyard.
current situation and future perspectives of bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meetings. Sides noted the crucial role of Turkmenbashi port in maritime transport between the two countries and the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route as well.
Mr Ambassador also met Azerbaijani citizens and compatriots living in Balkan province. He talked about the importance and care Azerbaijan gives to its citizens living abroad, listened to their offers and requests, and exchanged views.
