On June 3, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov was received by the President of Kenya, William Samoei Ruto, as part of his visit to Kenya, Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
According to the report, during the meeting, the parties emphasized that high-level mutual visits, political dialogue and inter-agency contacts serve the development of cooperation.
The parties also drew attention to the importance of strengthening cooperation within international organizations and expressed confidence that the partnership will be strengthened in all areas.
In addition, cooperation opportunities in the fields of economy, energy, agriculture, education, culture, tourism and management were discussed.
The parties noted that there are also broad opportunities for cooperation in the fields of information and communication technologies, digital economy, energy and minerals, and that it would be useful to organize joint business forums and trade missions in order to identify specific areas of cooperation.
The importance of African countries in Azerbaijan's foreign policy was discussed, and it was noted that, in addition to Kenya, it is interested in developing cooperation with other countries of the continent.
The importance of Azerbaijan's successful hosting of COP29 and the decisions taken, as well as cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the World Urban Forum to be held in 2026, were reviewed.
The meeting also exchanged views on other topical issues on the agenda and topics of mutual interest.
