On June 17, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the delegation led by Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
Issues on the existing bilateral and multilateral agenda between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia, inter-parliamentary relations, as well as regional matters were discussed.
Satisfaction was expressed with the increasing dynamism of recent high-level visits and contacts between the countries, and as part of this, the importance of meetings between the leaders, the growing dialogue between our parliaments, contacts between foreign ministers, and the mechanism of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs was noted.
It was emphasized that, along with other important areas, there are broad prospects for the development of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of traditional and renewable energy.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side in detail about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the progress of the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, and the factors hindering this process. It was emphasized that, for the signing of a final peace agreement between the parties, the removal of territorial claims against Azerbaijan from Armenia’s constitution and the abolition of now-obsolete institutions such as the Minsk Group are necessary.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
