On May 2, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Special Representative of Russian President on International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, who’s on visit to Azerbaijan in order to attend the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, Azerbaijani MFA told APA.
At the meeting, issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), as well as current regional situation were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the active participation and contribution of the Russian side in prestigious international events organized in Azerbaijan, including the VI World Intercultural Dialogue Forum is satisfactory.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, talking about the work done within the framework of Azerbaijan’s COP29 chairmanship, pointed out that new opportunities for cooperation in this direction have emerged.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who informed the other side about the current regional situation in the post-conflict period, including the process of normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia, pointed out that the latest agreement reached between the delimitation commissions is a plenty positive progress within the framework of the peace agenda. In this direction, he emphasized that Azerbaijan is determined to achieve real results within all elements of the normalization process.
Special Representative Mikhail Shvidkoy noted that there are wide prospects for cooperation between the two states, especially in the fields of education, culture, technology and innovation, and noted the importance of joint action in this direction.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
