Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with Andrii Sybiha, the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry told APA.
The discussion focused on the current cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, along with regional and international security issues.
Minister Bayramov congratulated Sybiha on his appointment and extended his best wishes for future success.
They lauded the cooperation between the two countries, based on mutual respect, support, and adherence to norms and principles of international law.
Minister Andrii Sybiha thanked him for the congratulations and expressed his hope for further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The Ukrainian top diplomat also recalled Azerbaijan’s humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, particularly the reconstruction of infrastructure in the city of Irpin and assistance in the demining process.
The two ministers exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest during the call.

"Spoke with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov about bilateral and multilateral issues, as well as shared challenges. We reaffirmed our mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. I expect our cooperation to reflect the friendly ties between our peoples," the Ukrainian Minister noted.
