On July 10, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions of Belgium Hadja Lahbib on the sidelines of his attendance in the NATO Summit, the Ministry told APA.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda, as well as the current regional situation in the post-conflict period.
Informing his counterpart in detail about the current regional situation and realities, the normalization and peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the widespread mine threat, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that Armenia's militarization policy poses a threat to the peace agenda. Providing information about the negotiations on the peace agreement, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted that despite significant progress on the text of the peace agreement, Armenia's ongoing territorial claims against Azerbaijan in its Constitution are an obstacle to lasting peace.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.

Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, who is on a visit to the United States, met with Hadija Labib, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Foreign Trade and Federal Cultural Institutions of Belgium.
Bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belgium, as well as trade, energy security, transport communication, as well as partnership issues related to our country's chairmanship of COP29, as well as other fields, were discussed at the meeting.
At the same time, the parties exchanged views on the regional situation in the post-conflict period and Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization.
