In 2025, we have held political consultations with Ethiopia, Somalia, Guinea, and other African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev said during a discussion on the topic "The Rise of the Global South and the West: Azerbaijan's Role, Cooperation, and New Opportunities for Development" at the expanded meeting of the International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations Committee of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), APA reports.

The deputy minister noted that even though the first five months of the year have not yet concluded, “by the end of this year, political consultations will also be held with Congo, Zimbabwe, and other countries. Cooperation with African countries has been expanding following COP29. Many African leaders have visited our country, and many more visits are planned. The issue of expanding the scope of diplomatic representation is also under discussion and is expected to be resolved in the near future.”
