On June 3, 2025, consular consultations were held in Baku between the of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro, Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, while the Montenegrin delegation was led by Ivana Đukanović, Director General for Consular Relations and Cooperation with the Diaspora of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.
During the consultations, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations in the consular field were discussed, along with opportunities for expanding the bilateral legal-contractual framework in this area.
In addition, the discussions touched upon enhancing cooperation to protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro, sharing best practices in the implementation of digital services and processes in the consular field, as well as exchanging views on the visa policies of both countries.
Proposals for developing cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro in areas such as legal assistance, labor, social protection, tourism, and others were also discussed and agreement was reached on taking necessary measures to expand relations in the relevant areas.
