On June 20, 2025, a phone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia, Penny Wong, Azerbaijan MFA told APA.
During the call, the current security situation resulting from the Israel-Iran confrontation was discussed.
The Australian Foreign Minister provided information about her country’s plans to evacuate its citizens from Iran and expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for the support provided.
The ministers also exchanged views on bilateral issues of mutual interest and emphasized the importance of the consultation mechanism between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.
