“The time has come to sign a peace treaty by adding the agreements reached with Azerbaijan to this treaty,” said the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan during his speech at Copenhagen Democracy Summit 2024, APA reports.

The head of the Armenian Government also touched upon the agreement on the delimitation and demarcation of borders with Azerbaijan. He said that this document is based on the 1991 Almaty declaration: “This means that we simply should take the administrative borders between Soviet Armenia and Soviet Azerbaijan as a basis during the delimitation process. According to the Almaty declaration, those borders were defined as the state border between the two countries.”

According to Nikol Pashinyan, the beginning of the border delimitation process was reached on October 6, 2022, at a meeting held with the participation of the leaders of Azerbaijan, France, and the EU: “This took place in Prague. Now is the time to reflect all these agreements in the peace treaty and sign it."

He, also touching on the Crossroads of Peace project said that this initiative will serve to restore transport links between the parties.
