“India continuously conducts illegal, barbaric actions, and the world remains silent. Just as they remained silent throughout the years of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, they are now displaying the same approach,” Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Qasim Mohiuddin, said during a press conference, APA reports.
He emphasized that for the resolution of the conflict, the leading countries of the world should not take a superficial stance, but rather a unified one: “The Indian government is taking inhumane steps against Muslims. International law and principles are not being followed in this matter. India is not, in fact, a superpower. We understand this, and those who support India should also understand this.”
The ambassador said that India's suspension of the Indus Water Treaty is a highly illegal step and such actions, instead of serving peace, only deepen the escalation.
The diplomat noted that the said treaty was guaranteed by the World Bank, but India ignored this document: "How can a country violate one of its fundamental rights by canceling the water treaty? This is absolutely impossible. Pakistan cannot remain silent about this position of India. Such steps are a crime against humanity. The Indian side is illegally threatening the lives of 240 million civilians."
He reminded that his country is always open to dialogue: "We are ready for dialogue and peace. It is no secret to anyone that the Indian side bears responsibility for what happened."
