An event was held within the framework of the "People of the Future" project organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

It was reported at the event that 29 children who lost their parents in the Russia-Ukraine war are currently undergoing rehabilitation in Azerbaijan.

The event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and its Embassy in Azerbaijan.

Yuri Husyev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, said that within the framework of the "People of the Future" project, 273 Ukrainian children have already undergone rehabilitation in Azerbaijan:"The rehabilitation project for Ukrainian children in Azerbaijan started when a large-scale war began in our country. To date, 273 children have participated in rehabilitation activities in Azerbaijan as part of this project. We express our gratitude to everyone who supported the implementation of this project. The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War has also played an important role in carrying out this project. Ukrainian children are a special category of children. In your event today, alongside Ukrainian children, Azerbaijani children will also perform. This concert will be another proof of the deep-rooted friendship between the Ukrainian and Azerbaijani peoples."

Member of Parliament, Head of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine Interparliamentary Friendship Group, Ali Bala Mehrramzadeh reminded that Azerbaijan’s position on Ukraine’s territorial integrity has remained unchanged since the start of the war in Ukraine.

The MP expressed confidence that the number of similar projects will continue to grow.

Viktoriya Tsymbaliuk, a representative of Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War and head of the "People of the Future" project, stated that nearly 3,000 Ukrainian children have participated in this project so far: "The children participating in the 'People of the Future' project are the children of Ukrainians who are missing, killed, imprisoned, or registered as missing, as well as those currently participating in the fighting. The project is aimed at socializing such children and providing them with support. Today's concert is also a part of that project. The 'People of the Future' project is being implemented in 20 countries, including Azerbaijan."

Later, a concert program was presented within the framework of the project.
