"Token operations are widely used in Azerbaijan with the support of international card organizations," said Farid Osmanov, General Director of Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) during his speech at VII International Banking Forum, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that payments through Apple Pay and Google Pay payment channels have been activated. In nine months of this year, the volume of token operations in Azerbaijan have reached AZN 1,9-2 billion. The share of token payments in post terminal transactions has reached 27%.
He noted that in contactless payments, mobile devices were preffered more.
