“Azerbaijan is a strategic market for the development of digital payments, and we are witnessing strong growth in cashless transactions here,” said Cristina Doros, Senior Vice President and Group Country Manager for Visa CISSEE, during her speech at the “Fintex Summit 2025 – Financial Technologies Exhibition,” APA reports.
Calling Azerbaijan a “favorite country,” Doros praised the country’s progress in the field of digital payments: “This forum has become a yearly tradition, and our cooperation with Azerbaijan is of particular importance. We aim to bring all stakeholders together to explore opportunities for digital development and seek joint solutions. Azerbaijan is a strategic market for us, and we clearly observe the rise of cashless and digital transactions here.”
She added that Visa, a payment network connecting over 4 billion cardholders and 14,000 banking institutions worldwide, is driven by technology and innovation. “However, all these technologies only create value when applied to local and meaningful projects. In Azerbaijan, we are implementing exactly this approach,” Doros emphasized.
