The annual inflation in Türkiye stood at 51.97% in August, the Turkish Statistical Institute announced in a report released on Tuesday, APA reports citing Turkish media.
The figure was down from the previous month's 61.78%.
Education and housing prices saw the highest increase, soaring 120.81% and 101.49%, respectively, year over year, while the smallest growth was seen in the transportation and clothing and footwear categories, where prices rose 28.96% and 29.38% on a yearly basis, respectively.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 2.47% in August with education prices climbing 11.34%.
