The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has announced its inflation forecast for 2025–2026, APA-Economics reports.
The CBA stated that developments in global trade are intensifying fluctuations in commodity and financial markets. In this context, the rise in inflation in major trading partner countries, the decline of the dollar index, and the slow strengthening of the nominal effective exchange rate are among the external risk factors. Internal risk factors that could increase inflation include cost-related elements as well as excessive growth in aggregate demand. In addition, the possible effects of credit activity on aggregate demand and prices are constantly monitored.
"In general, the share of internal factors in inflation forecasts for 2025–2026 is assessed as low. According to the baseline scenario, the forecast that annual inflation will remain within the target range in 2025 and 2026 remains unchanged," the CBA added.
