The administrative session of the 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA) was held today in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
The session focused on IOTA’s activities for the 2024–2025 period, decisions of the Executive Council, strategic development measures, and recommendations and initiatives from member administrations. The IOTA Secretariat presented its annual activity report, and organizational and budgetary matters for the upcoming term were reviewed.
IOTA President Orkhan Nazarli delivered a speech, noting that during Azerbaijan’s presidency, key priorities included institutional development, enhanced regional cooperation, and the expansion of knowledge exchange in innovative tax administration. He emphasized that special attention was given to achieving the goals outlined in IOTA’s 2023–2027 strategy. Nazarli added that the outcomes of this term are not only the conclusion of a cycle but also a contribution to IOTA’s sustainable institutional and financial future. He expressed confidence that the Assembly in Baku will open new opportunities and strengthen cooperation among member states.
At the end of the session, the symbolic IOTA flag was handed over by Orkhan Nazarli to Ferenc Vágujhelyi, Head of Hungary’s National Tax and Customs Administration.
