Azerbaijan makes changes to excise rates for imported alcoholic beverages

The Cabinet of Ministers has made changes to the "excise rates for excisable goods imported into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan", APA reports.

The excise rate for champagne, alcoholic tinctures obtained from the distillation of grape wine or grape pomace has been reduced from AZN 5.1 to AZN 2.7 per liter.

For undenatured ethyl alcohol (with an alcohol content of 80% or more), undenatured ethyl alcohol with an alcohol content of less than 80%, and spirits obtained from the distillation of grape wine or grape pomace, the excise rate has been increased from 6 AZN to 6.8 AZN per liter, from 8 AZN to 8.8 AZN per liter, respectively. For whiskey, rum and other spirits (obtained by distillation of fermented sugar cane products), gin and juniper tincture, vodka, and liqueurs, the excise rate has been raised from AZN 12.0 to AZN 12.8 per liter.

This Decision enters into force 30 (thirty) days after the date of its publication.
