Last year, AZN 112.7 million were spent on expenditures related to foreign aid, this was reflected in the annual report on the implementation of the 2023 state budget, APA reports.

Including AZN 5.7 million for assistance to international financial institutions (donation to the International Development Association, Asian Development Fund (ADF) of Asian Development Bank, "The Agreement on the Donation Related to the Participation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership Fund between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development", a donation to the International Monetary Fund Regional Capacity Development Center for the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia), AZN 461.7 thousand for assistance to international social and political organizations (Voluntary financial contribution to the International Committee of the Red Cross, Voluntary financial contribution to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Voluntary financial contribution to the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), financial aid to the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Development "Waqf Fund" for Palestine Refugees, financial aid to the Pérez-Guerrero Trust Fund for South-South Cooperation (PGTF) established by the UN, financial aid to OIC to continue the legal process to prevent injustice against Rohingya Muslims, to the UNESCO Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport, etc), AZN 2.9 million for assistance to the activities of the offices of international organizations located in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, AZN 103.6 million for direct assistance to foreign countries related to natural disasters and humanitarian crises, and AZN 79 thousand were used for other expenses.
