Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied WSJ data that the Ukrainian armed forces have already lost 80,000 servicemen in the war, UNIAN said, APA reports.

"80 thousand losses of the Ukrainian army – this is a lie. The actual number is much lower. Essentially, said the Ukrainian president. Kiev, like Moscow, does not disclose the actual number of its soldiers killed and wounded since the start of the full-scale war.

One million people have already been killed or injured in the full-scale war Russia launched against Ukraine in February 2022, the WSJ reported earlier this week. A confidential Ukrainian estimate at the start of the year put the number of Ukrainian soldiers dead at 80,000 and wounded at 400,000. Western intelligence estimates of Russian casualties vary, with some putting the death toll at nearly 200,000. , and the wounded are about 400,000.

The Ukrainian president also said that he has not yet received permission from Washington and London to use long-range missiles against Russia, presumably due to “fear of escalation”.
