“Ukraine is interested in the second round of talks, which are likely to be held in Istanbul on June 2. We want to receive Russia’s memorandum before this meeting,” said Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, APA reports citing local media.
He said that the submission of the memorandum is essential for the talks to be comprehensive and substantive: “This is also necessary so that the delegation heading to Istanbul receives an appropriate mandate to discuss the positions of the parties.”
A. Sybiha also noted that his country is interested in ending the war within this year, as well as in achieving a ceasefire between the parties that could last 30, 50, or 100 days.
The Ukrainian minister also declared that official Kyiv is ready to openly discuss this issue with the Russian side.
