“Kyiv will stop the transfer of Russian oil to Europe by the end of the 2029,” Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian president, said APA reports citing strana.news.
He said that transit will continue until the end of the contract, which expires at the end of 2029.
Note that earlier, Mykhailo Podolyak, in an interview with News.Live mistakenly stated that from January 2025, Ukraine will stop the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline through its territory.
Mykhailo Podolyak indicates that there were certain contracted volumes that expire on January 1, 2025. But if the cranes of Europe need Kazakh or Azerbaijani gas, then Ukraine is ready to transport it.
He added that, in addition to gas, the Druzhba oil pipeline will also stop working on January 1, 2025.
He then denied his own statement that Ukraine will stop transiting Russian oil to the EU from January 1, 2025. Apparently, he confused the contract’s end date: the gas transit contract ends in January 2025, not the oil one.
