The meeting between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the “White Palace” in Ankara is underway, APA reports citing Tovima.

According to Greek government sources, the two Foreign Ministers, George Gerapetritis of Greece and Hakan Fidan of Türkiye, as well as the two diplomatic advisors, Anna Maria Boura and Akif Cagatay Kılıc are in the meeting.

The Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis arrived in Ankara, shortly before 3:00 pm where he will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Greek Prime Minister was received at Ankara airport by the Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan. Mitsotakis will leave for the Turkish presidential palace, where he will be greeted by Erdogan before the two men hold a private meeting.

The agenda of talks reportedly includes a series of “low intensity” bilateral issues while the two leaders will make statements after the talks. The program will conclude with an official dinner later in the evening which the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will also attend.

According to government sources, during today’s meeting between the two leaders, two new agreements are expected to be signed: the first concerns a cooperation agreement regarding Disaster Management and Emergency Needs, which establishes a more structured basis for assistance between the two countries in urgent situations.

The second concerns cooperation in the field of Health and Medical Sciences, while the setting up of the Greek-Turkish Business Council is also expected to be announced, an initiative agreed upon during Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Athens last December. After the official dinner, the Greek Prime Minister will depart from Ankara.
