“There is peace with South Cyprus, but there is no agreement or document,” said Yasemin Ozturk, Chairperson of the Committee on Law, Political Affairs and Foreign Relations of the Assembly of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Parliament at the second meeting of the chairmen of the defense and security committees of the parliaments of TURKPA member states, APA reports.
She emphasized that they do not want war, stating: “For 50 years, meetings have been held, but we have achieved nothing. South Cyprus takes no action, and has no intention of doing so. The European Union accepted South Cyprus as a member, but this was not the right step. Many countries and international organizations have failed to honor their promises.”
