Russian drones attack Kyiv, other Ukrainian cities, three dead outside the capital-UPDATED-1

Russian forces attacked Kyiv and other cities early on Sunday, injuring at least 11 people in the capital, killing three people in towns around it and damaging dwellings and other buildings, officials said, APA reports citing Reuters

Officials in the Kyiv region said three people died in two small towns outside the capital.

In Kyiv, Timur Tkachenko, head of the city's military administration, said 11 people were injured in drone strikes.

A five-storey apartment building was hit in the Holosiivskyi district just outside the city centre, triggering a fire that damaged the building's exterior.

A private home and a business centre were damaged in strikes on other districts.

"Two of them have been hospitalized by doctors. Six people received medical assistance on the spot. Two others are being examined in the Shevchenkivskyi district," he wrote.

In the Mykolaiv region, two people sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. This was announced by Mykolaiv mayor Vitali Kim.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, the number of injured has reached three. In Kharkiv, the windows of several residential buildings were damaged. According to the city’s mayor, Ihor Terekhov, a child was injured by broken glass and received medical assistance.

The Russian army attacked several Ukrainian cities with drones; explosions were heard in many regions and in Kyiv, and air defense systems were activated, APA reports, citing UNIAN.

Parts of a downed drone fell onto a multi-storey building in Kyiv, partially destroying that section of the building.

It is also reported that a fire broke out at the drone crash site and that rescue workers are operating at the scene.

Additionally, explosions were reported in the Mykolaiv region.

Explosions were also heard in Kharkiv. The city’s mayor, Ihor Terekhov, stated that a fire broke out at one of the drone impact sites.
