Russian delegation departs for Türkiye to participate in talks with Ukraine, Zelensky confirms

A Russian delegation led by Vladimir Medinsky, aide to the President of Russia, has departed for Istanbul to take part in negotiations with Ukraine, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

The talks on the settlement of the Ukraine conflict between the delegations of Moscow and Kyiv are scheduled to take place on June 2 at the Çırağan Palace in Istanbul.

It is worth noting that the first round of Moscow-Kyiv negotiations was held in Istanbul on May 16–17.

Zelensky confirms Ukraine’s participation in June 2 talks with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed Ukraine’s participation in the June 2 negotiations with Russia in Istanbul, APA reports.

He made the announcement on his Telegram channel, stating:
“I have listened to reports from the Minister of Defense, the Foreign Minister, the General Staff, intelligence, and the Security Service of Ukraine. I have defined our positions ahead of Monday’s meeting in Istanbul,” Zelensky said.

Ceasefire and prisoner exchange to be discussed at the talks

According to Zelensky, the Ukrainian delegation plans to discuss issues related to a ceasefire, the release of prisoners, and other important topics.

“Our delegation will be led by Rustem Umerov on Monday,” he emphasized.
