A road collapse occurred early this morning in the Maslak neighborhood of Istanbul's Sarıyer district, APA reports citing NTV.
The incident led to the closure of Eski Büyükdere Street to traffic.
Firefighters, police, and personnel from IGDAS (Istanbul Gas Distribution Company) were immediately dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that a small-scale explosion had occurred due to compressed natural gas. As a safety measure, IGDAS shut off the gas supply in the area.
The affected road has been fully closed to traffic, and security measures have been implemented. Police and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality teams remain on site.
