PKK has announced its decision to disband, APA reports citing Reuters.
The group declared that it has disarmed.
Recall that some time ago, the imprisoned leader of the PKK terrorist organization, Abdullah Öcalan, issued a call to his supporters. In a written message released on his behalf, the appeal “Lay down your arms!” was included.
Abdullah Öcalan has been held in Imrali Prison for 26 years. He was captured in Kenya in February 1999 during an operation by the National Intelligence Organization of Türkiye and brought back to Türkiye. Although he was initially sentenced to death, the verdict was later commuted to life imprisonment.
