During an election campaign event in Istanbul, Turkey, an armed attack occurred targeting the Justice and Development Party (AKP) Republican Alliance candidate Aziz Yeniay, APA reports quoting Tele Trader.
A 22-year-old girl was wounded in the attack, as per the TRT television channel. According to the media outlet, the victim is in critical condition, the police have cordoned off the area and the search for the attacker or attackers is ongoing.
Municipal elections in Turkey are scheduled for March 31.
