Baku-APA. An Israeli delegation will visit Turkey next week for talks on compensating the Turkish victims of a 2010 Israeli attack on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said Friday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Turkey severed diplomatic and security ties with Israel after eight Turks and a Turkish American aboard the aid flotilla were killed in May 2010 during a violent confrontation with Israeli commandos.

Turkish officials will proceed talks with Israelis in parallel to discussions with the families of the victims, Arinc said, adding that they would like to end the process as soon as possible.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan a week ago, offering a belated apology for the attack three years ago, with the two leaders agreeing to normalize bilateral relations. But Turkey pre- conditions compensation for families of the victims, along with formal apology and easing Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip.
