The Hungarian government re-nominated Olivér Várhelyi for the position of European Union Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban wrote in this regard on his X account, APA reports.
"Following my recent consultation with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, my nominee for the European Commission is once again Olivér Várhelyi. During the past five years Commissioner Várhelyi has proved that the EU can make a difference as a positive force in its neighbourhood and beyond. He will do an excellent job in the upcoming Commission!" he noted in the post.
