The cited sources indicated that the German Finance Ministry is likely to prioritize budgetary savings and not support additional requests from the nation's Defense Ministry to help Kyiv.
Current aid, totaling around €8 billion for 2024, will continue as planned. However, the budget for 2025 is expected to be halved, with further reductions in subsequent years. The report also noted that future aid might come from frozen Russian assets rather than the federal budget.
