On October 26, Parliamentary elections will be held in Georgia.

The result of these parliamentary elections is said to be a turning point in the regulation of the country's relations with Europe and Russia by some experts.

Hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis living in this country actively participate in the political processes in Georgia.

MP Savalan Mirzoyev from the ruling "Georgian Dream" party told APA's Georgian bureau that the victory of the government in the parliament will mean strengthening of peace in Georgia and the region.

"The victory of "Georgian Dream" means, first of all, protection and preservation of peace in the region. Party leaders have repeatedly stated in their speeches that the most important thing for us is to preserve peace in Georgia because of the developments taking place in the world today. This is very important for Georgian citizens and Georgia. What we want to preserve in the country after achieving our biggest victory is, first of all, peace and stability. Georgia itself is a country living in a war regime, 20 % of our lands is under occupation. Therefore, we try to solve the problem of territorial integrity by peaceful means, not start a war in the country", Savalan Mirzoyev elaborated.

The Georgian Dream party's candidate from the Marneuli-Gardabani district, and current member of parliament Zaur Dargali said in a statement to APA's Georgia bureau that the country's opposition is being controlled from abroad, and the policies they are planning are contrary to the interests of Georgia and its people.

"In Georgia, the radical opposition has policies planned that aim for the country to face problems in many areas. Opening a war front between Russia and Georgia, volunteers going from Georgia to Ukraine to join the war, and Georgia imposing sanctions on Russia—these demands placed on Georgia are harmful for Georgia, and today the puppet opposition forces are capable of implementing them. The Georgian Dream government is the only administration that opposes these demands coming from abroad. Today, the country makes decisions about its own future and development," Zaur Dargali noted.

Note that around 30 parties have registered to participate in the October 26 parliamentary elections. To secure a majority in the 150-seat parliament, parties must obtain minimum 76 seats.
