Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky gave an interview to the German television channel ZDF for the first time as commander-in-chief, APA reports.
Syrsky said that Ukraine switched to a defensive operation, the goal of which was to inflict maximum losses on the Russian Federation.
He also noted that he was ready to abandon positions to save the lives of soldiers.
In addition, Syrsky said that “The main value is the life of a soldier” and therefore, in his opinion, “he is ready to retreat from a position rather than sacrifice his entire personnel.”
