In April of this year, the Food Price Index (FFPI) of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) averaged 128.3, APA-Economics reports citing the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control.
Accordingly, the food price index increased by 1.0% compared to March and by 7.6% compared to the same period last year.
The main reasons for the recent price increase were higher prices for cereals, dairy, and meat products.
