Azerbaijan unveils volume of trade turnover with CIS countries

In January-August of this year, trade transactions worth USD 4 billion 209 million 720 thousand took place between Azerbaijan and the CIS countries, Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee told APA-Economics.

According to information, this is 1.22% less in comparison with the corresponding period last year.

During the reporting period, trade operations with CIS countries made up 30.37% of the country's total trade turnover.

During this period, the value of Azerbaijan's trade turnover in descending order, was 2 billion 947 million 301 thousand USD with Russia (5.8% more than 1 year ago), with Ukraine USD 315 million 48 thousand (50.9% more), with Turkmenistan USD 296 million 26 thousand (54.1% less), with Belarus USD 303 million 499 thousand (39% more), with Kazakhstan USD 172 million 20 thousand (33% less), USD 135 million 367 thousand with Uzbekistan (27.8% more), with Kyrgyzstan USD 29 million 831 thousand (0.3% more), with Moldova USD 6 million 664 thousand (3.1% less), with Tajikistan USD 3 million 956 thousand (3.6% less).

In eight months, the value of Azerbaijan's product exports to the CIS countries decreased by 4.2% and amounted to USD 1 billion 108 million 957 thousand.

During this period, products worth USD 767 million 439 thousand were sent from Azerbaijan to Russia (3.4% less in annual comparison), USD 127 million 681 thousand to Ukraine (2.4 times more), USD 62 million 706 thousand to Turkmenistan (10.7% more), USD 29 million 510 thousand to Belarus (48.6% more), USD 68 million 575 thousand to Kazakhstan (8.6% less), USD 22 million 451 thousand to Uzbekistan (24.8% less), USD 24 million 106 thousand to Kyrgyzstan (11.8% less), USD 3 million 81 thousand (15.5% less) to Moldova, and 3 million 404 thousand (16.2% less) were exported to Tajikistan.

CIS countries accounted for 6.08% of the country's total exports, including Russia 4.21%, Ukraine 0.7%, Turkmenistan 0.34%, Belarus 0.16%, Kazakhstan 0.38%, Uzbekistan 0.12%, Kyrgyzstan 0,13%, Moldova 0.02%, Tajikistan 0.02%.

In January-August, the value of Azerbaijan's product imports from the CIS countries decreased by 3% and amounted to USD 3 billion 100 million 763 thousand .

During this period, products worth USD 2 billion 179 million 862 thousand from Russia (9.4% more), USD 187 million 367 thousand from Ukraine (20.7% more), USD 233 million 320 thousand from Turkmenistan (60.3% less), USD 273 million 989 thousand from Belarus (38% more), USD 103 million 445 thousand from Kazakhstan (43% less), USD 112 million 916 thousand from Uzbekistan (48.4% more), 5 million 725 thousand US dollars from Kyrgyzstan (2 ,4 times more), USD 3 million 583 thousand (10.8% more) from Moldova, USD 552 thousand (13.8 times more) from Tajikistan were imported to Azerbaijan.

CIS countries account for 24.29% of the country's total imports, including Russia 17.08%, Ukraine 1.47%, Turkmenistan 1.83%, Belarus 2.15%, Kazakhstan 0.81%, Uzbekistan 0.88%, Kyrgyzstan 0. 0.04%, Moldova 0.03%, Tajikistan 0.004%.
