According to data as of April 1, 2025, since the beginning of development, a total of 209.2 million tons of oil (including condensate) have been produced from the shallow-water part of the “Gunashli” field, APA reports citing SOCAR.

According to SOCAR, more than 136.5 billion cubic meters of gas have been produced from the field during the reporting period.

According to the information, a total of 371 wells have been drilled in the "Gunashli" field, of which 274 wells are in operation.

Note that the "Gunashli" structure was identified as a result of seismic exploration work carried out between 1958-1963. The first exploration well was drilled in 1977, and full-scale development of the field began.

The oil produced from the "Gunashli" field is of high quality – it fully corresponds to the Azeri Light brand in terms of composition and viscosity. The "Gunashli" oil is very light, containing low amounts of asphaltene, tar, and paraffin. The quantity of transparent products (gasoline, kerosene, ligroin, diesel fuel, etc.) accounts for 50%.

The "Gunashli" field is operated by the "28 May" Oil and Gas Production Department of SOCAR's "Azneft" Production Union. More than 55% of Azneft's total production comes from the "Gunashli" field. Currently, 14 deepwater offshore platforms are in operation at the field.
