Azerbaijan already plays a central role in the diversification of regional energy, SOCAR’s Vice President Elshad Nasirov said this while speaking at the 30th Anniversary “Baku Energy Forum” held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, Azerbaijan currently exports gas to 12 countries. Among them are Georgia, Türkiye, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Hungary, Romania, Macedonia, Croatia, and Slovenia.
“By deeply cooperating with neighboring countries, strengthening intercountry connections, and supporting market-based trade mechanisms, Azerbaijan has the potential to become a regional gas power,” Elshad Nasirov noted.
He added that these factors will not only strengthen Azerbaijan’s position but also immediately contribute to the long-term energy security of the region.
