Application of standards of North sea in the implementation of oil-gas projects in the Caspian Sea is not effective, SOCAR Vice President Babek Huseynov said during his speech at the Baku Energy Forum as part of the Baku Energy Week, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, certainly, the companies operate in Azerbaijan should work in compliance with the international standards, this provides safety, sustainability of operations and other processes.
“However the standards of North sea and systems using there are not effective for the Caspian Sea due to its conditions,” he added.
Vice President underlined that the solution for this issue is the application of standards which are in compliance with the Caspian Sea.
“For sure, international standards should be implemented, but we should comply them to the region,” he pointed out.
