In January-August of the current year, 26 476,3 mln. cubic meters of gas was transported via the main gas pipelines of Azerbaijan, which is a 2,3% decrease in annual comparison, the State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.
56,2% of gas transportation was implemented via the Baku-Tbilisi-Arzurum South Caucasus gas pipeline. Through this pipeline, the gas produced in the Shah Deniz gas condensate field is exported.
During the reporting period, 14 875,8 mln. cubic meters of gas was transported via this pipeline (an 2% increase).
It should be noted that last year, 39 806,9 million cubic meters of gas were transported via main gas pipelines in Azerbaijan, marking a 1.4% increase compared to the previous year. Of the total gas transported, 54.8% was carried through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus Pipeline. During the reporting period, 21 800,1 million cubic meters of gas were transported through this pipeline, reflecting a 4.8% increase compared to 2022.
